Upsc Civil Service Analysis and cutoff marks 2013 ias exam

As it was expected that upsc never repeat that questions and never repeat the type of the questions, this myth once again becomes true in upsc civil service examination 2013. Question paper 1 of general study and questions paper 2 csat of upsc preliminary examination was out of the expectation of the aspirant. Those who participated in the examination of civil service Pre exam 26 may 2013 (morning and evening) are saying that questions paper was easy but they are not sure about the answer because mostly answer was too similar.

On the basis of response given by some good scholar we got a conclusion that what will be expected cutoff marks for this year.
Category

General / UR / Unreserved
210-220

185-195
400

Friends, how was your paper, how many questions you have attempted correctly inform us, here
We uploaded the answer key you can check it here.
If you look at the previous year trend of civil service examination then you will find out that overall question paper was full of comprehension and decision making type of the questions and very few questions were asked from reasoning and math section . If you analyze the question paper then you can easily got conclusion that this time upsc asked questions from every filed
For example in CSAT paper 2 , 23 questions was asked from reading comprehension, 8 questions was asked from English passage, 6 question form data interpretation, 12 questions quantitative ability, 7 question from general mental ability, 18 questions question from analytical reasoning , and 6 questions was related to decision making

If you analyze the question paper 2 on difficulty level then your will get following conclusions
 Easy questions 8
Moderate level of difficulty 36
Easy to moderate : 36

So an average serious student can easily score 115 of marks out of 200. so don’t expect much more that cutoff will be low for this year for Upsc IAS exam 2013. Questions paper was easy so cutoff and qualifying marks will be high .
What do you think?

Paper 1 Analysis summary
History and Culture 15 questions
Polity 19 questions
Geography and Ecology 27 questions
Science 21 questions
Economy 18 questions

Paper 1 difficulty Level
Easy 15 questions
Moderate 37 questions
Moderate to Difficult 48 questions
So don’t expect much more from paper. I think 75 to 95 score out of 200 marks will be enough for qualifying preliminary examination.
